Introduction

9.3 Execution with governance and change management

Poor execution contribute to organization failure. More often, failures are on the organization side. [Evans, Joe. 2010]. For an organic enterprise, It is all about the capability to adapt and managing constant change to win the edge of competition.

The UK government have established COBIT for governance and ITIL for service management.

Governance is not only about managing change, but also generating organizational alignment around objectives, strategy, tools and methods.

COBIT is used for governance, control and audit for information and related technology. Recently, Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance or GRC is the umbrella term covering an organization's approach across these three areas. [Talantino, 2008] governance, risk and compliance activities are increasingly being integrated and aligned to some extent in order to avoid conflicts, wasteful overlaps and gaps. While interpreted differently in various organizations

ITIL support the service management for execution. It integrate change management, configuration management and release management and service management . Change management has become a critical component to execute strategy.


9.4 EA is the foundation of execution

Enterprise Architecture establish the foundation for execution. [Ross 2006]. The holistic architecture does not only provide the enterprise mechanism to structure the execution but also facilitate the collaboration for total participation.


Both change management and governance are built along with the holistic EA concept of a “whole system” view that examines the complex ways that a proposed change affects the interrelated systems and groups within an organization. Second, they encourage meaningful engagement with stakeholders. [Pannoni, 2010 ].The holistic architecture approach enables a structure analysis to execution. This paper compose the integrated execution framework with the columns on change control, governance, risk management, compliance evaluation, configuration and release management over the row of business process, data, application, SOA and infrastructure.
