1. The LEA Capability Map
The entire Light EA method is developed based on the following LEA model to support an organic enterprise. This model shows that LEA enables every one in the organization to see the whole and know the parts; Recognize that Communication, Collaboration, Governance and Security as the fields of an Enterprise; Analyze enterprise business architecture; Adaping to change with the the adaptive IT architecture approch based on three architecture theories in a three tiers of architecture practice; LEA bridge the gaps between strategy and execution via the bound of enterprise fields. Most Business failure frequently not because of lack of sound strategy but due to poor execution. Enterprise architecture is also the foundation of execution.
1. Enable eable every one to see the whole and know the parts.
LEA include of the enterprise mechanic architecture and the enterprise field architecture. The enterprise mechanic architecture include the business architecture, the information architecture, the application architecture and the technology architecture. The enterprise filed architecture consist of the enterprise knowledge sharing and enterprise collaboration.
2. The fields of Enterprise
Collaboration and Knowledge management is considered as the Enterprise fields similar to electric and magnetic field. An organic Enterprise become prosperous not only from the Ontological architecture but also the field of collaboration and knowledge management. In the twentieth century, under the evolution of quantum mechanic, the classic physic has undergone major supplementation and transformation. Field were added to particle model, and particle and fields have become aspects of an perplexing physical reality. EA professionals are the glue rather than the guru. They are the glue to orchestrate enterprise collaboration. They are not the guru to architect the enterprise blueprint in a command and control approach.
EA is an emerging paradigm, it provides the unique value to an organization by enabling every one to see the whole and know the parts. By doing so, it also leads every one in the organization to use both there left brain and right brain. The practice of see the whole and managing enterprise knowledge also serve as a practical method to facilitate enterprise collaborative culture as shown in the following figure.
2. Architect the enterprise business from the aspect of service management,Governance and Organization.
A business architecture is composed of the business organization architecture, the business governance architecture and the business service management architecture.
3. Enable enterprise agility in adapting to change.

The 3X3 EA framework propose a second generation EA to architect the organic enterprise. The author composes the 3X3 EA framework by observing the many existing architecture method with the desire to recognize the value of each architecture approach. This effort put the existing architecture approach of EA, SOA, Segment Architecture and solution architecture into a proper aspect to function as a whole. With this framework, EA does not requires significant investment to architecture the enterprises blueprint to start with. For the business community, The initial EA is only a master plan in a notional architecture approach. Segment architecture is the continuous architecture planning effort to close business performance gaps, it is an architecture planning on demand rather a big bang approach. For the developers, EA enables agile solution architecture to deliver the right solution to the right people on the right place at the right time.
4. Bridging strategy and execution
Ross, Weill and Robertson suggest that Enterprise Architecture As Strategy: Creating a Foundation for Business Execution, Light EA further recommend that EA to close the gaps between strategy and execution.
ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE IS A HOLISTIC ARCHITECTURE APPROACH
Enterprise Architecture is a holistic architecture to overcome the challenge of redundant effort in stovepipe architecture. The holistic architecture method does not only overcome redundant effort in IT but also the redundant in business. As a matter of fact, most of redundant IT investments are due to redundant business management practice. The organic Enterprise requires a holistic architecture approach in adapting change. Trying to architect the Enterprise in a stovepipe approach, as many EA project have done, only create an enterprise scale stovepipe system.
Holistic Architecture with a generic Holistic Architecture Framework.
This holistic architecture is not as complicate as it sound because based the same holistic analysis. For example: The Zachman Framework has been considered as the holistic Architecture framework. It is in parallel to the accent phylosophy of Macrocosm and Microcosm which seeing the same patterns reproduced in all levels of the cosmos, from the largest scale (macrocosm or universe-level) all the way down to the smallest scale (microcosm or sub-sub-atomic or even metaphysical-level). Both the ancient western culture and Eastern culture have endorse the phylosophy of Macrocosm and Microcosm. Based on this phylosophy, there is also a generic holistic architecture framework which can be used as the thinking tool for all holistic analysis.
Light EA have adapted the Zachman work to analyze the Knowledge Managment Architecture, Communication Architecture, Security Srchitecture, Governance Architecture, Collaboration Architecture, Business Architecture and Adaptive IT Architecture. In addition, to accommondate constant changing in an organic enterprise, LEA has also taking Coherence in to consieration by adaptting the ancient Wu-Xing model to the the generic holistic architecture framework as shown in the follwoing figure. Coherence, in architecture aspect, can be defined to deliver the right solution for the right right people on the right place art the right time.
GENERICE HOLISTIC FRAMEWORK AS A THINKING TOOL
LEA use the holistic architecture framework as the thinking too to architect all capabilities by the terms of knowledge management architecture, communication archtiecture, security architecture , governance archtiecture, business architecture, and the adaptive IT architecture by using the Analogical Reasoning Skill which is a method of processing information that compares the similarities between new and understood concepts, then uses those similarities to gain understanding of the new concept. It is a form of inductive reasoning because it strives to provide understanding of what is likely to be true, rather than deductively proving something as fact. Analogical reasoning can be used by both children and adults as a way to learn new information or as part of a persuasive argument.
The reasoning process begins by a person determining the target domain, or the new idea to be learned or explained. It is then compared to a general matching domain, or an idea that is already well-understood. The two domains must be similar enough to make a valid, substantial comparison. Specific qualities are chosen that belong to the matching domain, then related items are searched for in the target domain to tie the two domains together. For example, food’s effect on the human body can be an analogy to gasoline’s effect on a car because they are both responsible for making entities function correctly.
